8 years of hard work, fun, burning the midnight oil, thousands of miles of travel across both the Atlantic and the Pacific, countless hours on Final Cut Pro and Photoshop, an amazing set of colleagues and vendors I have had the pleasure of working and collaborating with and support from wonderful brides and grooms, has resulted in this wonderful exclusive feature on Atelier Diva Magazine May 2013 Issue

Tejash & Kaya - Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

Destination Playa Del Carmen - The wedding festivities of Tejash and Kaya's wedding started with a fun garba/mehndi at the luxurious Paradisus La Perla. The poolside garba featured professional singers and exquisite belly dancers. The beachside wedding at sunset was stunning and was followed by fire dancers at the resort. The last day started with Kaya and Tejash ending up shooting a trash the dress session with us..lot of water splash and jet skiing. The pool party in the afternoon brought out the kid in everyone with the DJ spinning some groovy numbers in the booth. The evening started with aerial bar tenders serving champagne to guests during the cocktail hours followed by the reception featuring mayan dancers. It was a party not to be missed by anyone. We had a lot of fun filming the wedding with long trans-resort walks to get from one point to another. Thanks to Tejash and Kaya for being such good hosts and being so sporty!

Rachana & Gagan - Mellon Auditorium - Washington, DC [ a tribute to Yash Chopra ]

Its been a long wait for us to release the trailer for Gagan and Rachana’s wedding. I always wanted to do a Yash Chopra tribute and I could not think of a better tribute than this gorgeous wedding at Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC. I have dedicated part of the trailer (the beginning) to Yash jee. Gagan and Rachana came
to us in 2011 for filming their wedding and after a few months of back and forth and venue changes, we finally arrived in Washington in late June. This is one of the best venues we have ever filmed a wedding in and the exquisite architecture of the auditorium ballroom and green room made for some spectacular frames and backdrops.
After coming back to Chicago and going through the footage, I immediately had a vision for the template for the trailer. The template involved some more outdoor shooting with Gagan and Rachana. Sid went back to Washington in October and just before Superstorm Sandy hit the east coast, he was able to complete rest of the shots we needed for the trailer. A bright and sunny day in June witnessed what I think is one of the most fun weddings we have filmed to date. We would like to thank Gagan and Rachana for having us film their wedding. Enjoy!

A Wedding on Wall St - Deepa & Anuj - New York, NY

After a long hiatus we are excited to share Deepa & Anuj's wedding highlights. Deepa's first email to us read "I was watching some of your videos and loved them, they are so us" - this set the tone for their wedding video! This was the beginning of a 8 month journey planning and preparing for the shoot in New York. Deepa and I clicked right away on email and soon afterwards we decided on an e-shoot the day before the sangeet. The e-shoot started in Central Park and we wrapped up late at night in Time's Square - and followed the grueling drill of the e-session with a fancy meal at McDonald's!

The sangeet was held at the Battery Park - tucked away along the southern tip of Manhattan. The cute little space was beautifully lit up with chinese lanterns hanging on trees and not to mention the Statue of Liberty in the backdrop. Sangeet was sort of a prelude to what was to come the next day at the wedding - non-stop fun. The wedding at Cipriani's- Wall St was Gorgeous with Mandap and decor/florals by Elegant Affairs. The day started with the Choora ceremony at the Andaz, followed by a baraat that blocked Wall St for a while and then the gorgeous ceremony at the Cipriani's. The reception was full of energy and action - DJ Juicy and Marco G pumped in energy into the reception gala from the get go and did not end until the wee hours.

A big heartfelt thanks to Deepa, Anuj and their families!

Nisha & Jiten - A Magical Journey - Hua Hin, Thailand

We are very excited to share the magical journey Nisha & Jiten had during their wedding festivities at the Sheraton, Hua Hin, Thailand. The journey started with the spanish welcome dinner night by the pool (at Sheraton) and ended with the winterland themed reception at Dusit. The events were inspired from different cultures and regions of the world and gave guests a glimpse of the love Nisha & Jiten share and their eternal desire to trot the globe. Nisha's gorgeous outfits, her vibrant smile and Jiten getting thrown into the pool, after getting his clothes ripped off by friends and cousins, definitely add to a bunch of other "kodak" moments.

With performers like Mika, Adnan Sami, DJ Sharad and Marco, guests were grooving on the dance floor till wee hours every day. Thanks again to Serge and Adam for agreeing to collaborate with us and keeping up with the long yet fun hours!

Thanks to Nisha, Jiten, their parents, sisters and family for being such gracious and warm hosts and making us feel a part of the wedding.

Nisha & Jiten- Snow Blanc Reception - Dusit Thani - Hua Hin, Thailand

After a week of festivities at the Sheraton Blue Lagoon, Nisha & Jiten's reception was held at the Dusit - right next to the Sheraton Blue Lagoon Resort. A classic hotel and venue for a couple with the discerning eye. The lush white decor with gorgeous white flowers and candle stands, a candle lit back-drop for the stage, a tall white wedding cake and winter wonderland blue mood lighting made for the perfect finale to one of the most fun weddings we have photographed and filmed over the past few years. With amazing performance from contemporary thai dancers dancing to bollywood songs beginning the evening, it only got better as the night progressed. Followed by a jaw dropping performance, full of energy, by Adnan Sami, who sang a rock version of his superhit song - Lift Kara De. And finally DJ Sharad Bhavnani & Marco made the guests groove to peppy dance numbers into the wee hours. Nisha's perfect off white dress with swarovskis, Jiten's classic black tuxedo, and a battery operated portable fan were perfect for glamour portraits, which we photographed 5 days before the wedding!  Again kudos to Adam, Serge, Sasha & Dwiko for all the help and amazing work.

Nisha & Jiten- Mughal Mystique Wedding - Hua Hin, Thailand

We are so excited to share with you the wedding gallery for Nisha & Jiten! After almost a week of festivities, the day of the wedding was a gorgeous sunny day in Hua Hin all set for a twilight wedding in middle of the infinity pool. Adam, Serge , Dwiko & Sasha were great to work with and we had a blast shooting stills and film with them. The mandap for the wedding was built on the pool and looked spectacular during sunset as the ceremony began. The day started with some remaining Garhi rituals from the night before and the morning ended with Jiten being thrown into the pool [ I have the Kodak moment ( Sasha & I were in the pool waiting for the moment ) - not being shared here ]. Baraat started with a Elephant and Jiten trying to get on the elephant - friends and family danced away - to the tunes being played from a mobile DJ booth - along the back corridor of the resort. Ceremony began at sundown and we witnessed a very gorgeous wedding while listening to the ocean waves. Fireworks and shoe bargaining marked the end of the ceremony and guests were shuttled over to Dusit for the reception [ to be blogged later ]! - The journey begins for Nisha & Jiten - wedding trailer/Same Day Edit coming soon!

Jiten & Nisha - Floral Fujiyama Mehndi - Hua Hin, Thailand

Nisha & Jiten's mehndi, held in the lawn (at the Sheraton), was an out of the box event with a japanese theme - Floral Fujiyama. The mehndi was a journey through a Japanese garden with decorated cabanas.  With shades of yellow, light green and orange, the decor, the props and the flowers made for a perfect mehndi on a gorgeous sunny afternoon in Hua Hin. Nisha's outfit was striking and made her stand out against the floral theme of the mehndi decor. Nisha walked in, with her family & friends, with a beautifully decorated parasol. Beautifully decorated cabanas were used to entertain guests with foot massages, hookah and mehndi corner. The event was very colorful with guests and family enjoying the dance numbers played by the DJ. With anticipation for the Sangeet night building up, the japanese mehndi was a perfect start to the wedding festivities for Nisha & Jiten.

Jiten & Nisha - Alors on Danse - Beach Party

This was the most amazing and fun beach party anyone could have asked for. Bright sunshine and the cool breeze from the sea made it a perfect day for the beach party - Alors on Danse. A rain dance floor and foam party on side and the infinity pool with Andrew the saxman on the other - there was no escaping fun. Friends and family were drenched from the moment the party started and it continued till sundown. The entrance on a rickshaw, the performers on stilts, the go-go girls, the music and the huge bar in the center - all made up for an amazing afternoon full of fun memories. It was a lot of fun capturing the fun moments and then reliving them on the editing table - enjoy the sneak peek!

Jiten & Nisha - Rajasthan Royal Sangeet - Hua Hin, Thailand

Nisha & Jiten planned their sangeet night very meticulously and it showed in all the small details. Sangeet night was a Rajasthan Royale theme with shades of pink reminding us of the pink city - Jaipur. With two gorgeous grandstands on either sides of the dance floor and wood work against the walls, one could not help but feel nostalgic about Jaipur. The elegant doli entrance by Nisha set the mood for the night. Charged up performances from friends and family were followed by the surprise of the evening - Mika Singh. Mika made all the guests - from young teenagers to uncles/aunts - dance and rock to his peppy numbers. It was great fun to capture the night in stills and motion.

Pooja & Mitu - Miami - The Wedding Trailer

We are very excited to share this short trailer of the amazing wedding that Pooja and Mitu had on top of a plexi-glass covered swimming pool at the Eden Roc in Miami. The wedding had amazing decor - contemporary and elegant. All the wedding events were so much fun to shoot - we have not seen such energetic dancing three nights in a row! The emerald green waters of Miami Beach make for a perfect backdrop for the wedding mandap. We would like to thank Pooja and Mitu and their families for all the warm hospitality during the wedding events. Sonal Shah for exquisite planning [ and schedule ]. Susmita patel for the amazing make-up and hair. Kamal Arora for the mouth watering cuisines! And the very very helpful Eden Rock staff. Special thanks to Nami Dadlani for geneorously agreeing to click behind the scenes productions stills for us. Last but not the least, amazing to work with Adam again. Danny and Scott were of great help and nothing would have been possible without their relentless hard work.

Mohit & Shephali - Adhoore Hum Adhoore Tum

This was our first attempt at a hybrid concept video by incorporating stop motion. It was an amazing weekend filming with Mohit and Shephali in Chicago. They were very sporting about the long torturous hours for three consecutive days. Had a great time working with Ram and Aaqib and big thanks to them for coordinating the entire production. Ayan from Austin was very generous with his time and story boarded the stop motion scenes for us. But none of this would have been possible without the generous support from Chicago Transit Authority [ Joyce Shaw was amazing to work with and she made our shoot on CTA property a breeze ] and W Lakeshore, Chicago. I would also like to thank Steve, Pete and Doug from ProGear Rental for all the help during the stop motion shoot.

Kunal & Shradha , Hua Hin , Thailand - Prelude to a Story

A sneak peek into Kunal & Shradha's wedding story. Sid & I had an amazing time filming and photographing with Shradha and Kunal in Thailand. Their families and friends showed great hospitality and it was a priviledge for us to be a part of their wedding festivities and capture their memories. From the day Shradha and Kunal got in touch with us, we knew that capturing their wedding would be a lot of fun and will give us the creative edge we always want. Shradha's impeccable dresses, Mrs Bhagchandani's detailed planning and Kunal and his family's very warm and generous hosting made the entire shoot (days and nights) a lot more fun than it usually is. We started shooting at the Erawan shrine in Bangkok the first day and then went to Wat Arun on day two followed by various other locations and finally we ended up in Hua Hin.  A big hug and thank you to Kunal and Shradha!..more to come soon..

Teaser- Wedding in Hua Hin, Thailand

Yes, we are back from Thailand ! It's been such an amazing experience & of course we couldn't wait to share some photos that we shot during the wedding extravaganza. This was a major photography/cinematography assignment and that made  things a little hectic for us but nevertheless we made it all work & had a ton of fun with Shradha & Kunal and their family and friends.  The first thing that got my attention was the culture of speaking so softly and politely. From whatever interaction I had at the hotel with the staff, I noticed everyone was always so warm/friendly and would generally bow to show respect. Of course, we never really knew what to do in return so we would just do the same. Later on we realized it wasn't necessary to do that with everyone. The wedding lasted 4 days and it was a Sindhi Wedding held at the Sheraton Blue Lagoon Resort in Hua Hin. Shradha and Kunal are based out of Dubai. Thus, this was their destination wedding and for us it became one of our favorite weddings to date. This stylish couple/wedding had every glamour and detail we were looking for in a destination wedding. From their invitation cards to their wish tree, everything was very tastefully done. And working with such an amazing couple made this wedding even more special. Both Kunal & Shradha are such a fun loving couple and it never ever felt like work around them (it was more fun than work..although humidity did not help) Destination indian weddings require very detailed planning and proper execution and especially in a place like Hua Hin- where sourcing last minute is always an issue. A lot of the decor pieces/center pieces/accents were flown in from dubai & that itself is quite a daunting task but everything from decor/flowers/lighting etc was arranged & co-ordinated by Mrs Rimjhim Bhagchandani (the mother of the bride), who is also a top event co-odinator in Dubai. Both Kunal and Shradha themselves took upon serious duties as they managed transport for all guests arriving from all over the globe to Bangkok as well take care of room allocations. I have not seen a more dedicated and detail oriented couple. Even with all the preps and planning, they were spending significant amount of time into filming their love story in Bangkok/Hua-Hin as well get getting daylight photos taken early in the morning after staying up all night from their reception.

We are so excited to share this wedding with everyone hope it serves as inspiration to prospective bride & grooms looking to have a wedding full of glamour, rituals, fun, and warmth for friends and family.

Reshma & Harsheel's Love Story. "Yeh dooriyan" from MILI GHOSH (http://in-motionstud on Vimeo.

A short love story filmed in california about Reshma & Harsheel. This was also filmed with the canon 5D mark II and was showcased on their reception night August 15th at the Langham Resort. Sid & I had very little production time (only two and a half days) but thankfully we managed to complete all the scenes baring a few fillers. Special permission was taken to film at the Long Beach airport. The PR lady was really gracious to let us do a scene without any charge and also to allow permit on very late notice.

The wedding, pre-wedding events, reception was also an incredible experience. We formed some great friendships with the couple..the families and also with vendors. Both the families were incredibly warm and full of life.! the wedding was gorgeous, the reception was a blast.. We couldn't stop ourselves from having fun with everyone. We will soon post trailers/sneak peaks from the actual events. This was simply and incredibly unique, lavish and gorgeous wedding.
